Will the Next President Save America?
How the 2008 Presidential Election Could Effect the Survival of America
America is facing a quiet crisis that is threatening our very survival. Whether we survive could in large measure depend upon the leadership of our next President. America’s Survival Guide serves as an invaluable resource for voters, journalist, commentators, and others as they evaluate candidates for the 2008 presidential race and election.
As of July, 2007, there were over 15 declared major party candidates in the presidential race, and several others considering running in the 2008 presidential election. Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, Rudolf Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney, and John McCain are just a few of the declared candidates.
By using America’s Survival Guide, during the 2008 campaign we can ask critical questions and engage in an informed fashion regarding vital issues that will affect the very ability of the American republic to survive.
When evaluating the 2008 presidential candidates, consider whether they recognize the quiet crisis that grips America.
Do the 2008 presidential candidates understand our First Principles? Do the presidential candidates understand the rule of law, equality, unalienable rights, the Social Compact, and limited government? How will they approach public policy issues in light of those First Principles?
Ask whether the candidates understand the Declaration of Independence, the American Revolution, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Gettysburg Address , and the great civil rights movements.
Do the candidates respect key components of American government, such as federalism, enumerated powers, judicial review, separation of powers, and checks and balances?
Do the presidential candidates have a comprehensive understanding of American history, and will they draw upon our rich history when they confront the issues of the day?
Will they support the education, media, holiday, legal, nonprofit, and political reforms America needs to survive?
Some candidates have addressed (in varying degrees) at least some of the First Principles or American history during the course of their campaigns or during their careers. For some examples of Republican candidates who have done so, review the statements of Fred Thompson, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Sam Brownback, and Tom Tancredo. For examples of some of the Democrat candidates who have done so, review the statements of Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Christoper Dodd, and Dennis Kucinich.
Consider visiting the official websites of the 2008 presidential candidates to gain a better understanding of their positions (if any) on the questions raised above.

"America's Survival Guide describes with detail and passion the dangers that come from abandoning the "First Principles" upon which this nation was founded. But this important book offers more than a diagnosis and despair, it presents a reasoned program for restoring the U.S. Constitution its proper place at the center of American society and government. The book draws on history, politics and education to make a powerful case for freedom and fighting for it."
